KML Addon Documentation

Listdom KML add-on allows you to draw boundaries on maps to highlight specific areas with KML files. Also, with this addon, you can define neighborhoods and areas. When you add your KML and GPX files, you can use them in different skin shortcodes.

How To Add KML and GPX Files

When you download and install Listdom KML Addon, a new menu will be added to the Listdom menu called “Map Layers” used to add KML and GPX files. Click on it to see a list of the currently created layers. The options on this page follow the WordPress basic options like bulk actions, search, filter, quick edit, etc. To add a new layer click the “Add Layer” button.

The available options on this page are:

  • Add Title: The name of this layer.
  • File: Select or upload the KML or GPX file.
  • Type: Select the type of the file to be KML or GPX.
  • Feed: If the file is located on a server out of the site, in this field you can enter the URL address of the file. Doing that the above uploaded file will be ignored.

How To Use The KML or GPX Files

The files must be merged with the Listdom skins and views that include a map. The add-on adds a new field to the Listdom skin shortcode builder to select the KML or GPX files. You can select multiple layers to display them on the map. If you leave it empty then all the layers will be displayed.

Enable Layers in Listing Details Page

You can enable or disable the added layers on the listing details page map. To do that go to Listdom → Settings → Addons tab and under the KML Addon section enable the “Display in Listing Details” option.
