Introduction
Cover View has 4 different styles, and you can use it to show off 1 listing at a time. If you want to show more listings, you can use several Cover View shortcodes on the same page. Also, you can use the Listdom Slider view to show several listings with one shortcode. The Slider view appearance is the same as the Cover view even with more styles.
Cover View Shortcode Configuration
If you want to show the Cover View style on your site, you need to make a special code called a shortcode. You can put this code anywhere on your site to show your directories in this style.
To create the shortcode, in your WordPress admin panel navigate to Listdom → Shortcodes. Press the Add Shortcode button.
The Cover View shortcode on the “Add New Shortcode” page, has these options:
1. Add Title: Type a name for this shortcode.
2. Skin: Select the skin type. Here we choose Cover View.
3. Style: Choose between 4 different styles for the listing card. You can select either the pre-made styles or make new ones with Elementor.
👉 You can build custom styles for listing cards with Listdom Elementor Add-on.
4. Listing: Select the listing that you want to show in the Cover view. Remember that each Cover View shortcode can show only one listing. Also, the listing should have a featured image.
15. Listing Link: Decide where the listing links will open:
- Same Window: Opens the listing detail page in the same browser window.
- New Window: Opens the listing detail page in a new window.
- Open in Lightbox: Shows the listing detail in a lightbox.
- Disabled: Deactivates the link.
👉 The Listing Link feature is only available on Listdom Pro Addon.
The other options on the page are the same for different types of skin shortcodes. You can learn about these in the Skins Shortcodes Common Settings.
Finally, click the Publish button.
To show the items in Cover View using this code, you can put the code anywhere on your site.
