The location section of Listdom is useful for categorizing listings according to different regions. For example, you can define a location called “Florida” and then, when adding a listing, assign it to that location. When users visit the location archive page, they will see the listings associated with that location.
To manage the Listdom locations, go to Listings → Locations. There are several options on this page to add or edit the Locations.
1. Name
Name of location, for example, Florida.
2. Slug
The slug field is automatically filled in based on the location name, but you can change it manually if you want. For example, if the slug is “Florida,” the URL of the locations will be YourDomain.com/locations/florida. The term “locations” in this URL can be changed too. To do that see the Slugs documentation.
3. Parent Location
This field lets you create a hierarchy of locations to better categorize your listings. You could have a hierarchy of “country,” “state,” “city,” and so on. For example, the term “Germany” would be the parent of “Berlin” and “Frankfurt.” Doing that, the locations will appear in a parent-child style wherever possible. For example in the Location field of the Search and Filter forms.
4. Description
This field allows you to provide additional information about the location. If your theme does not support this description, it will not be displayed.
5. Image
This image will be displayed on archive pages in conjunction with the location it represents.
6. Rank
Assign the Rank score of the listings in this location. Read more about it in the Rank Addon documentation.
👉 The Rank field is available in the Listdom Rank Add-on.
7. Locations List
The locations that you create are listed here. Each row shows the image, name, slug, and count of listings for that location. Under the name, you can use the Edit, Quick Edit, Delete, and View links to manage the location. You can also select multiple locations and apply bulk actions to save time.
By pressing the View link the archive of the listings of this location will be opened. To customize the design and structure of the archive page see the Archive Pages documentation.
Listdom also shows a list of the published locations in different styles with simple shortcodes. Read more about the Listdom location shortcodes.
Add listing view
When adding or editing a listing, you can select a location from the list of locations that appear on the Add/Edit listing page. Read more about how to add a new listing in the Listdom.
